• The gate sags toward the latch side and scrapes the ground. The top hinge weld has stretched or cracked, dropping the leaf a few degrees. The operator keeps pushing but the gate fights its own weight.
• You hear a metal-on-metal creak when the gate moves. A cracked weld flexes slightly with every cycle. The sound is the two separated surfaces rubbing against each other under load.
